Abstract
The study aimed to reveal the geostrategic importance of the Suez Canal، and to show the economic importance of the canal to Egypt and the world. The study relied on the descriptive method، the comparative approach، and the analytical method. The study found that the new Suez Canal possessed a very large infrastructure، so that the canal was able to increase the number of ships that could pass by the diversity of these ships، including the huge ships and giant oil carriers، but this expansion did not achieve the Egyptian state’s objectives on the ground، represented by an increase Large، but big leaps in the profits of this channel، as the increase in the number of vessels passing through it was very small، despite the passage of some giant ships from it، and the increase in the profits of the canal was negligible. The study recommended conducting more comprehensive studies to reach the possibility of benefiting from it more economically.
