Abstract

This study was designed to identify the relationship between Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence of lifeguards in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Depending on changes in sex, years of experience and the level of the rescue license. Thus, the researchers used the descriptive approach. The study sample consisted of (312) licensed lifeguards working in the swimming pools with (165) men and) 147 (women, and they were randomly selected. The study tool was a questionnaire that was constructed to suit the nature of the current study. The most prominent results showed that there is a relationship between mindfulness and emotional intelligence of lifeguards. Also, the results showed that there are no statistically significant differences among the averages of the relationship between mindfulness and emotional intelligence of lifeguards, depending on sex, experience and the level of the rescue license. Hence, the researchers recommended directing those responsible for preparing and qualifying lifeguards to the importance of the relationship between mindfulness and emotional intelligence, in order to develop plans for preparing lifeguards to ensure a focus on mind fulness and how to invest it in raising the level of emotional intelligence of lifeguards at all levels.
