Abstract
Housing projects lack control and assessment tools and rely on the practices of companies or agencies, which have negatively affected the performance of these projects according to the development plans. Hence, the study seeks to formulate and devise a list of key performance indicators (KPIs). These KPIs are to boost the performance of housing projects so that implementation is effective and achieves Egyptian state goals. Hence, the utmost usefulness will come from investments within housing programs to achieve the maximum economic and social returns. Accordingly, the concept and priority of the housing sector in development plans, besides influencing and governing factors, were clarified. Also, the study investigated the features and role of KPIs and how to enrich the performance of these projects. Then, the KPIs of construction projects adopted by many companies and institutions were gathered and classified according to the challenges of the construction industry in Egypt to achieve optimal and most effective performance. Finally, according to the housing sector variables as a service and production sector, the study identified and concluded the most significant KPIs for housing projects in Egypt. It relied on the survey study to review these KPIs for efficiently contributing to the success of the state’s development projects.
