Abstract
The paper deals with the evaluation of distance learning of the architectural design studio during the Corona pandemic, and the extent to which distance learning and teaching were achieved between the professor and the student. The paper aims to share and evaluate the experience of distance learning and teaching of the architectural design studio, in the College of Architecture and Planning at Qassim University. The research problem is that the Corona virus crisis generates many ideas for educational programs and media, but there is a deficiency in knowledge of many programs that achieve the continuity of the educational process remotely, which may result in difficulty in guidance and a deficiency in conveying information.
The methodology was followed in conducting interviews via the Zoom program remotely for professors and students of architectural design studios, and a set of questions were asked to clarify their opinions about the experience of teaching the architectural design studio remotely.
The results of the study reached the majority of studio professors in conveying information, ease of communication, and the level of ability to develop ideas by 90% and the size of the project by 70%. The results of the interview with students also reached the effectiveness of the Zoom program in distance education by 75%, while the design studio (6.4) achieved 40% due to the abundance and how to apply the systems, details, and size of the project.
