Abstract
Quality of life is a comprehensive concept that assesses the well-being of individuals and communities based on multiple criteria including health, education, economy, environment, and security. Its definitions vary, but they generally refer to a balance between physical, psychological, and social aspects. The most important criteria for its assessment include public health, income level, quality of education, environmental sustainability, and social security.
Quality of life indicators are used in the development of urban communities to ensure the provision of health and education services, advanced infrastructure, and green spaces. Some developing countries such as Brazil, India, and Kenya also rely on these indicators to improve services in poor areas, which enhances the well-being of the population.
In Egypt, rural communities face challenges in areas such as health, education, and infrastructure. Therefore, analysis of quality of life indicators in these areas is used to identify gaps and improve living conditions, through projects that focus on improving water, education, and transportation services, and increasing economic opportunities.
The research emphasizes the importance of strategic planning for the development of communities, especially rural ones, to improve quality of life and reduce the gap between rural and urban areas, as the research defines quality of life, its importance, and its standards in urban and rural communities, in addition to analyzing global and local experiences in improving quality of life indicators.
