The Saudi family trends towards smart housing and their impact on Satisfying housing needs
Abstract
Trends are one of the main determinants of controlling, directing and regulating behavior, and therefore any change requires first knowledge of the prevailing trends among individuals, and knowledge of their ability to modify and transform towards the desired change, as new trends contradict what there may be of the inherent and well-established trends in the souls, often. What leads to disintegration and turmoil and impedes the occurrence of what we are aiming at in terms of development and progress, and the importance of trends lies in that they are based on the fact that individuals work in order to obtain more reinforcements that they receive from their surroundings, and at the same time they work to reduce the potential disturbances to be exposed. Trends perform an adaptive, utilitarian function as a means to reach a desired goal. These trends are related to the family and in the formation of its clear images for it, as it is the basic structural unit in building human societies, as it plays the main role in building the edifice of any society, and the family in all circumstances is a product of social and technological change and it is a unit characterized by flexibility and the ability to adapt to external influences And the interior, and for this the success and cohesion of the family is related to the extent of its adaptation to the modern changes in society. Research problem:1- What is the impact of family trends towards smart housing in achieving housing needs?2- Are there differences between the sample members in interior design and space according to the study variables, "educational level, age, work, length of marriage, number of family members, and the monthly income of the family?3- Are there differences between the members of the sample in furnishing and beautifying the home according to the study variables, "educational level, age, work, length of marriage, number of family members, and the monthly income of the family? Objectives: Objectives: 1- Identify the differences between members of the sample in interior design and space according to the variables of the study, "educational level, age, work, length of marriage, number of family members, and the monthly income of the family."2- Identify the differences between members of the sample in furnishing and beautifying the home according to the study variables, "educational level, age, work, length of marriage, number of family members, and the monthly income of the family."3- Identify the differences between members of the sample in terms of safety and security according to the variables of the study, "educational level, age, work, length of marriage, number of family members, and the monthly income of the family." Research Methodology:This research followed the descriptive and analytical approach that relies on the study of reality or phenomenon as it exists in reality and is concerned with its accurate description Results:1- The existence of differences in interior design and space between spouses at the higher educational level and both spouses at the intermediate and low educational level in favor of spouses at the higher educational level at a significance level (0.01)2- The existence of differences in housing furnishing and beautification between spouses at the higher educational level and both spouses at the intermediate and low educational level in favor of spouses at the higher educational level.3- There are differences in security and safety between spouses at the higher educational level and both spouses at the intermediate and low educational level in favor of spouses at the higher educational level at a significance level (0.01).4- The existence of a direct correlation relationship between the axes of the housing needs questionnaire and some of the study variables at a significance level of 0.01, 0.05, so the higher the educational level of the husband and wife, the higher the housing needs with their axes: interior design and space, furnishing and beautifying housing, security and safety.5- The husband’s education was one of the most influencing factors affecting the housing needs by 70.9%, followed by the wife’s education at 61.4%, the family’s monthly income came in third place with 57.6%, and finally the husband’s job came in fourth place with 54.1%.6- The priority of the axes of housing needs by the individuals of the research sample was security and safety at 37.6%, followed by interior design and space with 34.5%, and housing furnishing and beautification by 27.9% comes in third place
