Introducing heritage vocabulary in contemporary architecture to preserve the future heritage
Abstract
In the past, Architecture had a specific and clear heritage identity. This identity reflected the characteristics of peoples and their cultural, hertiage and social background. Today, the Egyptian identity of architecture has faded because of many reasons including the donminance of the westerniztion on architecture, technology and requirements of the era, which calls for the importance of studing how the contemporary architecture meets the requirements of the era and does not affect the the heritage identity. Research problem : Many buildings that are not convenient with the heritage identit of Cairo has appeared as a result of the imtation of the western architecture and the technological progress that led to the Existence of characteristics in the architecture that do not express the heritage identity and Users are no longer feel with the belongness to the architecture, where it does not concern their local culture and it does not fit their cultural heritage generally and their architecture heritage specificlly. Research objective: The main aim: is to study how to insert the heritage characteristics of architecture in the contemporary architecture to achieve linking between the originality and contemporary in a certain way to achieve sustainability for heritage. Research Methodology: This research relied on two fundamental methods; a theoretical approach and an analytical approach.
