Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the effect of e-learning in improving academic achievement and self-efficacy among university students and to explore if there are any significant differences among the students due to (gender and academic level) variables. It also, aims to detect the relationship between the academic achievement and self-efficacy. The study utilized the descriptive method. Three scales- consist of e-learning measure, designed by the researchers, academic achievement scale of El-Guasma 2012 (modified) and Ralfs scale(2011) of Self-efficacy- were used to collect data from sample consists of 360 male and female students selected randomly from Najran University. The results showed that: there is an effect of e-learning in improving the academic achievement and self-efficacy among the university students ; there is significant positive correlative relationship between academic achievement and self-efficacy expectations among the students; there are statistically significant differences for the effect of e-learning in improving academic achievement due to the gender variable in favor of males; there are statistically significant differences for the effect of e-learning in improving academic achievement due to the academic level variable in favor of lower level students; there are no significant differences between means of scores of males and females in self-efficacy expectations scale; whilst, there are significant differences between the means of scores of students according to the academic level in self-efficacy expectations scale due to the students of lower levels.
