Abstract

Mental health in light of the new Corona pandemic has become an urgent requirement for all segments of society, especially the youth stage, and this study aimed to reveal the levels of anxiety and panic among students of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in various disciplines and levels, and to examine the relationship between the effect of anxiety and panic at the level of Academic students in the second semester of academic year of 2021, examining the relationship between generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder, The two researchers used the descriptive (survey) approach, and the research applied a questionnaire to a sample of Princess Nourah University students, and the study included 4754 university students, They were randomly selected from different colleges, institutes, and deanships. The results of the study showed that the levels of anxiety and panic of more than 50% of the female sample ranged between moderate and severe, and that one third of the sample of female students believed that the effect of anxiety and panic attacks on study and university exams was significant, and that there was a direct relationship between the level of anxiety and panic, meaning that the high level of anxiety and panic attacks Anxiety is accompanied by a rise in the level of panic among female students and vice versa, and there is a direct statistically significant relationship between the level of anxiety and panic among female students according to the type of college and level of study with slight differences in the strength of this relationship. The study recommended the need to provide counseling and treatment services in an interactive and fast manner, in addition to the need to intensify the awareness and preventive aspect, such as holding courses to deal with anxiety among university students.
