Abstract

The research aims to find out the role of student activities in the development of active citizenship among students of the Faculty of Science and Arts in its prominence, and to uncover statistically significant differences at the level (α≤0.05) between the average responses of the individuals of the research sample about the role of student activities in the development of active citizenship, attributable to the variable (specialization) And gender), and the research sample consisted of (150) male and female students from the College of Science and Arts in its predicament and then randomly selected during the academic year (1440-1441 AH), and to achieve the goal of the research, a questionnaire was used consisting of (20) items distributed in four axes: (Active participation Belonging and loyalty to the homeland, volunteering and teamwork, personal and social responsibility) as a tool for study, and the results of the research showed the approval of the research sample (students of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in its prominence) on the role of student activities in the development of active citizenship was a (large) degree, with an average of (3.85), and a deviation Standard (1.06), where the axis of belonging and loyalty to the homeland obtained a very large degree of approval, with an arithmetic mean (3.93), and a standard deviation (1.04) compared to other axes, while the axis of active participation obtained the least approval with a mean of (3.79) and a standard deviation (1.0 6) The results of the study also confirmed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (α≤0.05) about the role of student activities in developing citizenship among students of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences due to its predicate due to the variable of gender or specialization, and the study recommended the necessity for students to participate in student activities in order to consolidate rights Citizenship through active participation in public life activities.
