Abstract

The study aimed to identify the training needs for teaching the advanced math curriculum (McGraw-Hill) at the Middle School by investigating the perspectives of math teachers in Al-Ahsa. The researcher used the descriptive approach and the research tool was a 34-item questionnaire taken from Alkhamis study (2013). The sample of the study consisted of 97 female math teachers from Al-Ahsa middle schools in the academic year 1441/1442 AH. After verifying the validity and reliability of the instrument and analyzing the results, the study revealed that:

  1. Training needs in the area of teaching strategies and methods obtained an average of (3.73) out of (5) with a high need score.
  2. Training needs in the area of cognitive aspect and school subject obtained an average of (3.71) out of (5) with a high need score.
  3. Training needs in the area of teaching aids and technologies obtained an average of (3.51) out of (5) with a moderate need score.
