Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the reality of the mathematics teacher’s contribution to developing innovative thinking among elementary school students from the point of view of mathematics supervisors and teachers. It also aimed to identify obstacles to the mathematics teacher’s role in developing innovative thinking among elementary school students from the point of view of supervisors and mathematics teachers. As well as to identify the proposals that contribute to the development of the role of the mathematics teacher in the development of innovative thinking among primary school students from the point of view of supervisors and mathematics teachers. This study used the descriptive survey approach, and the researcher uses the stratified sample represented by the study population in primary schools in Al-Rass governorate and the size of the study sample reached (110) from supervisors and mathematics teachers in primary schools in Al-Rass governorate. The researcher also used the questionnaire as a tool to collect data for its relevance to the objectives of the study and the approach used in it, which is: the descriptive survey approach, after referring to the educational literature and a group of previous studies close to the subject of the study, and the study reached a number of results, most notably: The average general approval for the statements of the axis "The reality of the contribution of the mathematics teacher in the development of innovative thinking among primary school students" was (3.98 score out of 5), which indicates a degree (agree) on the study tool, and the average general approval for the phrases of the axis Obstacles for a mathematics teacher to play his role in developing innovative thinking among elementary school students "has reached (3.74 score out of 5) , Which indicates the degree of (OK) on the study instrument. The results also found that the average general approval for the phrases of the axis “proposals that contribute to the development of the role of the mathematics teacher in developing innovative thinking among elementary school students from the point of view of the mathematics supervisors” reached (4.00 score out of 5), which indicates a degree of (agree) On the study tool. Also, there are no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) or less in the responses of study individuals towards the study axes, according to the scientific qualification variable, the number of years of experience, the job, and age.
