Abstract

The aim of the current research is to explain the significance of the meaning of “light” in linguistic dictionaries, and clarify Its significance in the light of the Quranic context that embraces it, and then deriving some educational indications from the generous verses in which the term “light” was mentioned in the religious, spiritual and social moral field, and the proposal to employ it in the Muslim family. The two fundamentalist approaches were used in inductive, deductive, and descriptive methods. The research found that the term "light" in the verses of the Noble Qur’an came with multiple meanings. It was: “Light” to denote God Almighty and the light described God’s righteous religion, and the Messenger of Guidance, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, the light shown, and the Book of God is light, and came in the sense of faith and guidance, and light in the sense of light and enlightenment. And that among the educational connotations derived from the term “light” on the nodal side, faith in God and the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and the Holy Qur’an, was on the spiritual side, sensing the greatness of God and sensing his mercy to the Almighty, while the educational connotations in the social, moral aspect were far from hypocrisy, and presented The researcher has some suggestions to employ these educational implications and their applications in the family. Hence, the researcher recommended intensifying educational research related to extrapolating the meanings of the noble Qur’anic vocabulary to elicit educational implications from it, and proposing applications for it in various educational institutions.
