Abstract
The present study aimed to structure and experiment a four-dimensional scale of alexithymia, and to verify the psychometric properties of the scale of validity and reliability. The study also aimed to test the scale on an intended sample of students with academic learning difficulties about (61) male and female students, whose aged ranged from (9-12) years with an average age of (11.4) years. And by using the Goodenough-Harris drawing test for intelligence, and diagnostic assessment scales for learning difficulties reading, writing and Mathematics, and the alexithymia scale (prepared by researcher), the results concluded that People with learning difficulties suffer from a moderate degree of alexithymia. In addition, there was statistically significant correlation between academic learning difficulties (reading, writing, and Mathematics). The study recommended the necessity of reducing family and school pressures on people with learning difficulties, and providing preventive training programs from social and psychological disturbances suffered by those with learning difficulties.
