Abstract

This research aimed to develop the attitude of high school female students towards the National Virtual Museum of Fine Art and to improve their artworks in the Art Education course. The research relied on the experimental method using the control and experimental groups. The research’s design included one independent variable which was the Fine Art National Virtual Museum, and two dependent variables which were high school female students’ attitude and their artwork in the art education course. The two dependents variables were measured by questionnaire of the students' attitude towards the Fine Art National Virtual Museum, and an evaluation card was used to measure the students’ artwork. The sample of the research included (66) students from the sixty-first and sixty-fifth female high schools in Jeddah. The data was statistically analysed by using the means and frequencies, “T” test for the independent samples and Spearman correlation coefficient between the dependent variables.

The results indicated the presence of statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the level of students’ artwork in favour of the experimental group, and the presence of positive attitude towards the Fine Art National Virtual Museum. Finally, the research recommended to encourage the students to visit and build virtual museums compatible with their study interests.
