Abstract

Abu Masoud’s interpretation is one of the major resources that Al-Alusi used in his approach, for he depended on Abu Masoud in his rectifications.

Therefore, the importance of this study stems from its attempt to explain Alusi’s approach in his explicit rectifications about Abi Masoud in regard with choosing functional terms used for explicit rectifications and finding the origins of such approach. The study also investigated discussed the approach of Alusi in presenting explicit rectifications from Abu Masoud by extrapolating some examples. The study concluded that Alusi has followed a steady approach in his explicit rectifications about Abi Masoud by discussing them based on the Glorious Quran, textual appropriateness and reasons (occasions) of revelation. The recommended to direct the attention of researchers to study the rectifications of Quranic interpreters for its scientific significance.
