Abstract
The study aims to explain how the management of allowances in commercial and Islamic banks in Jordan for the life of these banks and in the case of liquidation.
The study shows that there is a difference in the management of allowances in commercial and Islamic banks in Jordan. Also, there is a difference between the commercial and Islamic banks in Jordan in the way of disclosing the amounts devolved to revenues when creating miscellaneous allowances.
Furthermore, the devolution of allowances in commercial banks and Islamic banks in Jordan are performed in different ways. The allowances in commercial banks are devolved to the total revenues that are placed in the liquidation fund. On the other hand, the allowances deducted from shareholders in Islamic banks are devolved to the shareholders themselves, and the investment risk management fund is devolved to the Zakat Fund.
