Abstract

The problem of excessive atonement is very serious; because of its direct impact on the security of individuals, groups and States, hence the importance of addressing that problem.

This research sheds light on one of the most important reasons for excessive atonement (takfir), which is the imbalance in dealing with the verses of (governance), and the most prominent verse of that: (Al-Ma'idah)- surah 5 in Quran-: (And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers),[verse: 44], and this imbalance question the interpretation of (Ibn Abbas), and this is what happened to the theorists of the takfiri currents.

It was found -through this research- the invalidity of a claim weakening the words of Ibn Abbas: disbelief less disbelief, as it is a direct interpretation of the verses of governance in (Al-Ma'idah)- surah 5 in Quran.

This research confirms the need to take care to address the ideas and suspicions transmitted by the takfiris, by showing aspects of invalidity and contravention of the legal texts and scientific rules.
