Abstract

Heritage penetrates life sap to provide it with the workforce for advancement, renewal, confrontation and defiance. The aspects of heritage and its multiple sources are manifold, including popular, mythological, historical, and religious data. This includes doctrines, ideas, behavioral methods, general knowledge and experiences attributed to the past time.

Our Arab heritage is distinguished by its wealth and abundance of bright aspects, and this is perhaps the reason for the widespread use of heritage in all its forms in poetry. Poetry is one of the creative literary arts that reflect the employment of historical heritage with all its data, and highlight the close relationship between literature and history based on complementation, which makes them linked in an inseparable strong way. Attention to poetry requires a high degree of imagination, description, and creativity that appear clearly through the employment of historical aspect through. The poet introduces history to the youth, by focusing on employing historical figures on one side, and employing historical events on the other to renew the memory of the nation and overlook the cultural and intellectual aspects rooted in literary heritage.

Hence the idea of the study entitled "Employing Historical Dimension in Jordanian Poetry: Haider Mahmoud as an Example" as an analytical study, focusing on explaining the importance of employing historical dimension in the work of the poet Haider Mahmoud, clarifying the artistic aesthetics in the Jordanian poem, and upgrading it by employing historical heritage
