Abstract

This study aimed to uncover the concept of personality traits from an Islamic educational perspective, and to show the most important factors affecting its formation. The researcher adopted the inductive analytical approach based on tracking the written texts of advanced Islamic scholars, analyzing and comparing them with the sayings of later scholars. The results showed that the individual is distinguished from others by many physical, cognitive, social, ethical and psychological characteristics and factors, influenced by internal and external factors that contribute to highlighting his personal characteristics. The results also showed that the criteria adopted in the classification of traits among Muslim scholars have varied according to the focal point that each researcher looks at. In his definition of the concept of traits Some of them classified them according to belief, and some classified them according to the criterion of temperaments, some of them classified according to human nature, and some of them classified according to the criterion of the main factor in their formation, and the results showed that there are many classifications in the field of traits, some of them classified according to human nature, and some of them Some of them classified according to the influencing factors, and some of them classified according to the gender variable, as well as classifications according to belief, according to mood, classifications in terms of general and specificity, and classifications in terms of subject. Based on the results, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and proposals to correct the generational view of Islamic heritage and take care of it Among these recommendations are the Islamic rooting of studies that relate to the human personality and its characteristics, the establishment of specialized research teams to uncover the hoard of the Islamic conception of the human personality, and a more extensive study of Islamic heritage. It also recommended educational institutions to educate their children about their heritage and correct their view of heritage, which is limited to books that have disappeared, and links them to their past and present to prepare them for their future
