Abstract
The study aimed to identify the cognitive emotional regulation and its relationship with attachment among Middle Adolescence Period for Students in Amman Governorate. The relational descriptive approach was used. The sample consisted of (653) students, (192 males, 461 females). The attachment scale IPPA and ERQ-CA was used. The study found that the degree of cognitive emotional regulation came in a high degree with an arithmetic average (3.67) and it was found that the prevailing style of attachment is the secure style with a percentage of approximately (78.4%). The insecure style attachment came in a percentage of approximately (21.6%). The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance α (0.05) due to sex in the difference in cognitive emotional organization in favor of females. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences due to sex in the difference in attachment. The results also indicated that there is statistically significant correlation relationship at the level of significance α (0.05), between emotional regulation and secure attachment style. The study recommends the necessity of holding more training courses and counseling workshops for adolescent’s students to organize their emotions to achieve psychosocial compatibility and enhance trust and communication among adolescents with peers, which improves their emotional regulation
