Abstract
This study aimed to identify the self-concept and its relationship to developing the professional tendencies of the tenth-grade students from their point of view. To achieve the aim of the study, the relational descriptive approach was used on a sample of 280 students, and a scale consisting of two axes was developed; namely self-concept and professional development based on a group of related previous studies. Among the most important findings of the study is that the level of self-concept between tenth-grade students was average and that the degree of the professional tendency among them was also average. In addition to the existence of a positive correlation between self-concept and professional tendencies. The study recommended the necessity of promoting a culture of professionalism in the educational milieu, starting with those in charge of managing educational institutions, passing through professional guidance specialists and teachers, and ending with students; which results in exploring professional tendencies at an early age and working to developing an educational, accurate and scientific way
