Water Importance and Conservation from Islamic Perspective

Abstract

The aim of this study was to recruit Islamic religious faith in promoting positive Muslim ethics by practicing water conservation and rationalization and not to spoil the water quality. Given the importance of water conservation in addressing water shortages in many Arab and Islamic countries, the change of negative behaviors related to the use of water and reduce wastage and pollution will contribute to the achievement of the objectives of a study through raising the efficiency of water use. In order of achieving the study's main goal, an analytical approach was employed for the purpose of raising the efficiency of water use through pampering Quranic verses and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad.

The study showed that the guidelines and the provisions of Islamic Sharia law related to activation of prayers practices to raise the efficiency of water use prized for those included in the current water resource management strategies. The results of the study save an important amounts of water used in ablution and purity, if the Muslim man's commitment to the principles of Islamic Sharia law in word and deed. The study recommended the necessity of activating the role of imams and men and women preachers to educate worshipers to save water in ablution and purity to the sustainability of providing water for the sake of current and future generations
