Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the interaction in the dimensions of moral intelligence (sympathy, conscience, self-control, respect, tolerance, justice) among the study sample members according to the variable of health status and gender, and to reveal the differences in the dimensions of moral intelligence for the hearing impaired according to the severity of the disability variable. To achieve the objectives of the study, the measure of moral intelligence was applied by researchers to a sample of (279) students with hearing impairments and normal students, of whom (200) male and female students, with (100) male and (100) female students, and (79) male and female students from Students with hearing impairments, amounting to (45) male and (34) female students in the ages (18-15) years. The study reached several results, most notably:

There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the hearing-impaired and the normal in the total degree of moral intelligence and in the dimensions of empathy, conscience and self-control in favor of the ordinary, and in favor of the hearing-impaired in the dimension of tolerance, and there are no statistically significant differences in each dimension of respect and justice.

There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between males and females for the hearing impaired in each of the total degree of moral intelligence and the dimension of empathy, conscience, self-control and tolerance in favor of females, and there are no statistically significant differences between males and females in both dimensions of respect and justice.

There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between males and females among the ordinary in each of the dimensions of sympathy and conscience in favor of females and justice in favor of males, and there are no statistically significant differences between males and females in the total degree of moral intelligence and both after self-control, respect and tolerance.

There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) in the total degree of moral intelligence for the hearing impaired in favor of those with moderate disabilities, and there are no differences in all dimensions.
