Abstract
Humans havereliedonastronomyforanumberofthings, suchasdeterminingthedirectionsandseasonsoftheyear.InSaudi Arabia, astronomyisanessentialsciencebecauseitisgenerallyused in theirculturetodetermineRamadan,theperiodoffastingandthe celebration ofEid.Inaddition,SaudiArabiahassetvision2030and intendstobesuccessfulnationinthefieldofastronomy.Thus,inorder to achievethevision,thisworkproposesthedevelopmentofanobser- vatorycenteratSaudiArabia.Inthiswork,twocasestudiesrelatedto observatorycenterhavebeenanalysed.Basedonthecasestudies,the proposedobservatorycenterwillhaveanestimatednetareaof7,090m2. The observatorycenteriscomprisedoffewzones,suchasexhibition, planetarium, administration,learningcenterandservice.Thiscenteris proposedtobedevelopatAl-Samer,Jeddah.Thedevelopmentofthe ObservatoryCenterisexpectedtospreadawarenessofAstronomyand its importanceamongthecommunityofSaudiArabia.Inaddition,it will createafoundationforthesocietyinthefieldofastronomy.
