Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the degree of science teachers' awareness of diagnostic evaluation, and their attitudes towards using it from their point of view. To accomplish the purpose of the study, a questionnaire of (40) items was developed and administrated on (135) science teachers. The results showed statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) of science teachers` attitudes towards using diagnostic evaluation according to: teaching experience, specialization, while the differences were not statistically different according to gender. In the light of the given results, the researcher recommended holding workshops to make teachers familiar with diagnostic evaluation, and providing them with practical applications for using it. They also recommended enhancing the teachers' manuals by different models of diagnostic evaluation as practical examples carried out by teachers with their students, and conducting more of studies to study the diagnostic evaluation according to qualitative research tools.
