Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of organizational climate in the public secondary schools in Jordan, and its relationship with some variables. A 74-item questionnaire was used to collect data. The study sample consisted of (585) male and female principals and teachers of public secondary schools in Jordan during the academic year 2015/ 2016.

Results of the study showed that the current status of the organizational climate in public secondary schools in Jordan, from the point of view of principals and teachers of these schools, was moderate; as the arithmetic average was (2.99) with a standard deviation of (1.05). The highest rating was for the area of procedures and policies, and the very least to the area of participation in decision-making. Further, the results showed a statistically significant difference in the current status of organizational climate in public secondary schools in Jordan, from the point of view of principals and teachers of these schools on all areas due to the variable of job position in favor of principals, variable of qualification in favor of a masters degree or higher, and variable of years of experience, and in favor of (11) years and above. Results of the study also showed no statistically significant differences in the current status of organizational climate in public secondary schools in Jordan, from the point of view of principals and teachers of these schools on all areas related to gender differences.
