Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of using blended educational games in teaching science to develop critical thinking skills among eighthgrade female students. To achieve the study purpose the researcher built blended educational games guide and a critical thinking skills scale. The researcher guaranteed the validity and reliability of the scale. The study sample consisted of (87) female students from eighth grade from Alnuzha School, the study was conducted in the first semester in 2015/2016 scholastic year. They were divided into two groups, experimental group which consisted of (40) female students, and a control group which consisted of (47) female students.

The study unveiled that there is a statistically significant effect of using blended educational games in teaching science subjects to develop critical thinking skills among eighth grade students.

According to the study’s findings, it is recommended that Science teachers should use blended educational games in their instructions for its effect on enhancing critical thinking skills among their students. And schools supervisors should be more aware of the significance of the application of using blended educational games in education and conduct training workshop to science teachers to implement it in their teaching.
