The Level of Meaninglessness and Social Isolation among Employed and Unemployed Persons in AlJisa District: Comparative Study
Abstract
This study aimed at knowing the level of Meaninglessness and social isolation among employed and unemployed in Al Jisa district in HKJ. A purposive sample was selected from age rate (25-30) year's old with (243) persons, among them (120) unemployed and (123) employed. The researchers developed a Meaninglessness scale and a social isolation scale. The reliability and validity were acceptable as well. The study unveiled that both of unemployed and employed have moderate level of Meaninglessness and social isolation. Yet, unemployed persons have higher level of Meaninglessness and social isolation when comparing them to employed ones. Furthermore, the study revealed that there are statistical significant differences at the level (α ≤ 0.05) in Meaninglessness according to gender and age rate, and there are statistical significant differences at the level (α ≤0.05) in feeling of social isolation according to gender in favor to Female, and age rate in favor to (25-27) years old.
