Abstract

This study aimed at exploring the effectiveness of POSSE strategy on improving listening comprehension skill among the basic tenth grade male students, compared with the traditional strategy. The study participants consisted of (64) male students who were enrolled in Al- Sharaigy secondary school for boys, and belong to Amman Second Educational District. They were in two groups chosen randomly: an experimental group which studied using a POSSE strategy, and a control group which studied using a traditional strategy. The two researchers prepared a listening comprehension test which was applied before and after the experiment. For data analysis, Arithmetical means, Standard deviations, T- test were used. The study findings showed that there were significant differences (α = 0.05) in listening comprehension skill between the two groups in favor of the experimental group
