Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the effect of of Mind Maps strategy on the development of reflective thinking skills among students of the ninth grade in Jordan. To achieve the objective of the study, the researchers designed a test to measure the skills of reflective thinking. The researchers adopted the semi-experimental method, where the experimental group of 30 students studied according to the strategy of Mind Maps, and the control group consisting of (30) students studied in the usual way. The test was applied to both groups before and after teaching. The results showed that there was a significant difference at (α≤05,0) between the two groups due to the strategy of Mind Maps, in favor of the experimental group, which indicates the effectiveness of the use of Mind Maps strategy to improve reflective thinking skills. The study recommended the using of Mind Maps strategy in the teaching of History studies, and conducting other similar studies in different educational stages.
