Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the current status of ethics of education profession among teachers of the Ministry of Education in Jordan from the point of view of their principals. The study sample consisted of (309) principals from the capital Amman, Mafraq and Karak. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed as a tool of study consisting of (48) paragraphs, and was verified for its validity and reliability. The results showed that the status quo of ethics of education profession among teachers in Ministry of Education in Jordan was moderate. The results showed no significant differences due to sex variable in the total score, and the fields of a teacher ethics towards his colleagues and principal. However, there were significant differences in favor of females in the field of teacher ethics towards students, and there were significant differences in favor of males in the field of teacher ethics towards the community. The results also showed no significant differences at (α = 0.05) due to the variable of experience.

In light of the results of the study, it was recommended to hold specialized training courses in ethics of the teaching profession for teachers to raise the level of education ethics.
