Abstract
This study aimed at investigating the teaching practices of the mathematics teachers who won the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Distinguished Teacher in light of the standards of the Award. To answer the questions of the study, (7) distinguished teachers were selectd purposefully. Five math classes for each teacher were observed and videotaped. The researcher conducted semi-structured interviews with the 7 teachers and 28 male and female students.
The study showed that all teachers are proficient in semester and daily planning. Most of them employ effective teaching strategies (86%), and most of the teachers (71%) plan the evaluation process and employ evaluation strategies. Some of them (57%) do not differentiate between evaluation strategies and evaluation tools.
