The Degree of Use of Qaseem University Students for Social Networks and their Relation to Social Variables
Abstract
This study aimed at investigating the degree of use of Qaseem University students for social networks and their relation to social variables. The study sample consisted of (979) male students. The study used the descriptive survey approach in data collection. The study results revealed that Twitter was the most used social network followed by YouTube. Also it was revealed that human faculties students were using social net works more than students of the scientific faculties, and that the social networks were used mostly for entertainment. It was indicated that the daily use for social networks was high with a percentage of (34.9%) and an average of (3-4) hours daily. Besides, the results showed that students belonging to families with (5000-9999) income used the social networks for at least 7 hours daily. It was recommended to conduct continual awareness programs in the Kigdom of Suadi Arabia in varied ways.
