Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the impact of the length of approaching step on some kinematics variables in the skill of flying front somersault on the floor gymnastics mat among the students of the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Jordan. The researchers used the descriptive approach due to its compatibility to the study nature and objectives. The study sample consisted of ( 3 ) students of the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Jordan who were chosen as a purposive sample. (SPSS) as well as (KINOVEA) statistical analyses were used to analyze the study results. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences regarding the impact of the length of the first approaching step on some kinematics variables. In addition, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences regarding the impact of the length of second approaching step on some kinematics variables. The results also revealed that there were statistically significant differences in terms of the variable of landing angle. The researchers recommended addressing other kinematics variables, other than those mentioned as well as linking that with the second step when performing the skill of flying front somersault as well as conducting more comparative studies between the kinematics variables in the skill of flying front somersault on the floor gymnastics mat.
