Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the factors effecting the activation of knowledge society from faculty members point of view at humaities faculties at Jordan University.

The researchers developed a questionnaire with (32) items distributed among four domains; political, economic, social and technological. The sample of the study consisted of (200) faculty members at humanities faculties at Jordan University.

The results of the study showed that the factors effecting the activation of the knowledge society at the University of Jordan from the point of view of the faculty members in the humanities faculties were all medium.

In addithion, the results showed significant statistical differences due to sex on the political, economic, and social factors and the total score, and all the means were in favour of the females. Besides, the results showed that there were no significant statistical differences due to the academic rank on the political, economic, and social factors while there were significant differences in technological factor and Total score.
