The Extent of Utilizing Learning Theories by Physical Education Teachers during Physical Education Lessons
Abstract
This study aimed at exploring the extent of utilizing learning theories by physical education teachers during teaching lessons in Ma‘an city according to the variables of : gender, experience and studying level. The descriptive approach was used, and the study sample consisted of (15) physical education teachers. The researchers constructed a questionnaire that included (22) items divided into three domains related to learning theories. The findings of the study showed that the physical education teachers application for the learning theories was high with an average of ( 3.85) . Also it was indicated that the Constructive theory was the most used theory with an average of (4.06) while the least used one was the Gestalt learning theory. In addition, the findings of the study showed that there were no significant statistical differences in teachers’ application of learning theories due to gender, experience and studying level .The researchers recommended integrating the learning theories into the curriculum of all subjects especially in teaching physical education for their positive impact on students’ learning.
