Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the degree of Islamic Education teachers practicing of instructional competencies according to the total quality standards from the supervisors and principals perspectives in Al- Mafraq Directorate. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed where its validity and reliability were assured. The questionnaire consisted of (49) items distributed into six copmpetencies: planning, teaching and learning, evaluation, scientific specialization, self-development and local society. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach. The study sample consisted of (85) male and female principals, and (12) supervisors. The sample of the principals was selected randomly; while the supervisors sample was selected purposfully.

The findings of the study revealed that the degree of Islamic Education teachers’ practice of instructional competencies in light of the overall quality standards was high. It was recommended to review the methods used in the development of teachers professionally followed by the Ministry of Education in Jordan and the need to include the concept of total quality in the preparation and training of teachers.
