The Relation between Body Image and Self-Acceptance among Female Students at Irbid University.
Abstract
The study aimed identifying the relationship between body imageassessment and self-acceptance of Irbid university female college students.The study sample consisted of (350) female students who were randomlyselected within two levels: the levels of bachelor degree and diploma. Forcollection data study, two measures were used the measure of body imageassessment and self- acceptance measure. The collection of Cronbach’sAlpha reliability factor was respectively (0.88)(0.85).Statistical collections of the study data showed the following results:1. The degree of female students body image assessment was medium. Thismeans that most female students had a medium estimate of their bodies.2. There was a statistically significant positive correlation at the level of(a=0.05) between the body image assessment and self acceptance.3. There was no statistically significant difference at (a=0.05)in the strengthof correlative relationship that could be attributed to the impact ofinstructional level between body image assessment and self- acceptance.4. There was a statistically significant difference at (a = 0.05) in the strengthof correlative relationship between body image assessment and selfacceptancethat could be attributed to the impact of income in regard tomedium income and high income .The differences were to the advantageof high income students.
