Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate stress coping strategies amongthe educational colleges in Jordan in the light of student’s gender, student’sacademic average and study level. The study sample consisted of (484)students who were selected by a stratified random manner according tothe variable of the academic year for students. The stress coping strategiesquestionnaire was used to investigate the stress coping strategies whichconsisted of (60) items distributed among (6) dimensions: request help fromothers, avoiding and escaping, relaxation, problem solving and negativehabits. The results indicated that there were high and middle usage for thestress coping strategies among the study sample in all the questionnairedimensions and there weren’t significant differences in stress copingstrategies due to student’s gender and academic average variables. Therewere significant differences in stress coping strategies due to student’s studylevel variables in favor of fourth year students. The study recommended thatthere should be more concern given to the university student’s adjustmentthrough conducting, more research and the necessity to provide somecounseling and psychological services for university students especially forthe first year students at the university.
