Abstract
This study aimed at investigating the effect of using the problem solvingstrategy in teaching the citizenship education curricula on developing decisiontaking skills among 10th grade students in Jordan.Subjects of the study were (141) students who were selected from fourschools during the academic year 20082009/ and were assigned to twogroups; the experimental group consisted of (76) students (36 male, 40female) and the control group which consisted of (65) students (30 male, 35female). Data were collected using a decision making test which was preparedby the researcher. Results of the study showed that there were statisticallysignificant differences (a=0.05) in developing decision taking skills in favourof the experimental group; and male students. No differences were shownamong different achievement levels. Some recommendations were derivedaccording to the results
