Abstract
The present study aimed at revealing the relationship between emotional balance and educational problems among secondary school students, and identify if there are differences between males and females among students of scientific and literary streams. The sample of the study consists of 350 students (177 males and 173 females) in some high school students in Homs city. The researcher used the scale of emotional balance and the scale of educational problems, which he designed. The results of the study showed that there is a significant negative relationship between the student grades on the scale of emotional balance as a whole and its subscales and their grades on the scale of educational problems as a whole and its subscales. There is a statistically significant difference between males and females on the scale of emotional balance for males. However, there is no difference between males and females on the scale of educational problems. There is no statistically significant differences between scientific students and literary students on the scale of emotional balance and on the scale of educational problems. The study recommends, amongst others, the preparation of guidance programs to increase emotional balance in order to reduce educational problems that may face them.
