Abstract
The study aimed at identifying the status of Jerusalem in the books of Islamic Education and the Arabic language for the upper elementary stage and approaches for its promotion. The study population was composed of the books of Islamic Education and Arabic language for the ninth and tenth grades. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researchers followed the analytical descriptive approach. The study concluded a number of results, the most important of which are: The percentage of the inclusion of Jerusalem and its status in the curriculum of Islamic Education at the ninth and tenth grades in Palestine was 2. 29%. The percentage of inclusion of Jerusalem and its status in the Arabic Language curriculum for the ninth and tenth grades in Palestine was 10. 52%. In light of the results, the study recommended that the curricula of Islamic Education and the Arabic language should include the cause of Jerusalem and its status in the Islamic world, and the need for emphasizing the importance of the role of the ministries of education in the Arab and Islamic world in developing extracurricular and curricular programs and activities under the slogan “For Jerusalem”.
