Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of the directors of the Education Directorate schools for the Irbid District brigade in providing a safe school environment from the teachers’ point of view. The study sample consists of 358 male and female teachers during the academic year 2019-2020. The descriptive survey method and the development of the questionnaire were used as tools for the study. The questionnaire consisted of 40 items distributed in four areas. The results concluded that the role of the directors of the schools came with a high percentage. There are statistically significant differences attributed to the impact of the educational qualification. The differences came in favor of the bachelor degree, and the presence of statistically significant differences attributed to the impact of sex and differences came in favor of females. The presence of statistically significant differences attributed to the effect of years of experience and the differences came in favor of less than 5 years in the field of building positive relationships with teachers and the field of school climate. The study recommended strengthening and motivating school principals by giving them more powers to continue providing and achieving a safe school environment.
