Abstract
The present study aimed at identifying the level of psychological resilience and its relation to the body image among a sample of overweight students in the upper primary stage in Jerash governorate. To achieve the objectives of the study, a sample of students in the upper primary stage (grades 8, 9 and 10) was selected. The results of the study found that the level of psychological resilience was moderate, and the level of body image was low. There was a statistically significant correlation between most of the psychological resilience and body image. The results also found that male and female students suffering from overweight do not differ in psychological resilience and body image. Based on the results of the study, some recommendations were drawn, including the need for attention by the counselor to some positive psychological variables within overweight students especially body image and preparing counseling programs for them.
