This study aims to investigate metacognition thinking level for the studentsin the Faculty of Education in Al - Baha University in the Kingdom of SaudiArabia. It also investigates the level of difference between the metacognitionthinking level in the light of the variables of: academic year, and academicachievement.The sample of the study consisted of (100) students in the Facultyof Education in Al - Baha University. In order to achieve the goal of thestudy the researcher designed a metacognition thinking scale to measuremetacognition thinking level for the students, which consisted of (30) items.The metacognition thinking scale was applied during the first semester of theacademic year 1434/ 1435.The results of the study revealed that the students have a medium levelof metacognition thinking level at the total score level. It indicated that therewere no statistical significant differences in metacognition thinking level dueto the university year level or academic achievement.
