Abstract
The aim of this paper is to verify the effectiveness of using a trainingprogram based on cognitive behavioral therapy for the reduction of the socialphobia among a sample of talented teenagers.The sample of the research consisted of (11) talented teenagers at theclasses of Middle School and secondary schools in Greater Cairo, betweenthe ages of (1317-) with high level of social phobia (according to the scaleused in this study).The research sample was chosen to implement the program on (53)talented teenagers with high social phobia. The experimental method is usedin this research is prepared by the researcher.The study tools included:1. training program based on the techniques of cognitive behavioral therapyfor the reduction of the social phobia of the talented teenagers.2. Social phobia scale for teenagers.The researcher used a statistical “Wilcoxon Test” to test the significanceof differences of associated groups.The results showed the presence of statistically significant differencesbetween the ranks averages of sample members before the application of theprogram, but the average differences of the same individuals is dropped afterthe application of the social phobia scale.The results indicated that there were no differences between a functionof statistical averages sample members arranged in dimensional applicationafter the application of the program and after the period of follow-up to socialphobia scale for teenagers.
