Abstract
This study aimed at revealing the degree of the skills of the students ineighth grade basic for social participation and leadership in AL- Tayba andWasateya Educational Directorate.To achieve this purpose, the descriptivemethod was applied and two scales were designed, one for social participation,and the other for leadership.The reliability and validity for both scales wereensured.The study sample consisted of (297) male and female students of theacademic year (2014- 2015) .The study findings showed that the degree ofskills for social participation was medium with (3- 23) ; there were statisticaldifference at the level (a=0.05) due to sex variable in social participation andin favor of males; the degree of skills for leadership was high with (3.70) ;there were statistical differences at the level (a=0.05) due to sex in favor offemale students.The study concluded with a set of recommendations:1. The importance of activating students’ roles in social participation byschool administrations.2. Providing teachers with the teacher’s books that include the concepts ofsocial participation and leadership.
