Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effect of training program of social skills among the Prince Sattam Bin Abdul Aziz university students and modify their locus of control from external to internal. The study sample consisted of (40) students of the second and third levels at college of education, who were randomly assigned equally into experimental and control groups.The following instruments were used in data collection: social skills scale; locus of control scale; and the training program in improving social skills and modifying locus of control. The following are main results of the study: Statistically significant differences at (α≤ 0.05) level between subjects mean ratings (experimental and controls) and post measurement for all social skills in favor of experimental group subjects and in all social skills. Statistically significant differences at (α≤ 0.05) between subjects mean ratings on the post measurement of locus of control where all experimental group have external locus of control. Statistically significant differences at (α≤ 0.05) level between subjects mean ratings on the post measurement for both social skills and locus of control, where experimental group out performed controls, indicating the training program and effectiveness as well as persistence of its effects in among the study sample.
