Abstract
This study aimed to assess the degree of effectiveness of distance teaching on students' learning of the National Education course at Applied Science Private University, from their perspective, as well as their attitudes toward it. A descriptive approach was employed to achieve the study's objectives. A questionnaire was designed as the data collection instrument. The sample consisted of 341 students who were taught the National Education course via distance learning during the second semester of the academic year 2019-2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings revealed that the effectiveness of distance teaching for National Education was very high, and students’ attitudes towards distance teaching were also very positive. Several recommendations were proposed, including the activation of distance teaching for other subjects, allowing students from outside Jordan to enroll in the university through distance learning, and promoting the ongoing professional development of teachers by offering training courses focused on distance teaching.
